aims and activities of the project
The aims of the project are to foster the respect for European cultures, to show the importance and necessity of learning foreign languages; and to develop cognitive activity, thinking, attention, memory and logic.
We hope that the festival of European languages: "European countries through their languages» will show rich linguistic and cultural diversity in Europe and will enable students of our county to participate in activities which will provideopportunity for them to share their knowledge and points of view.
7-9 former students of Ida-Viru County can participate in the Festival of European Languages in one the following three areas:
1. Research one of the European languages
2. Make a movie or a presentation demonstrating one of the European countries and its language.
3. Demonstration of a poster depicting any word or a phrase in different European languages, or demonstration of a poster, depicting the importance of European languages: "European countries through their languages." In both cases, students present their work, the idea of the poster and its significance.

Simple words in 24 official eu languages
Language is not only a way of communication, it is the treasure of a nation. It connects us with the world. The more languages we know, the more educated we are. EU is rich in languages: there are more than 50 of them, but there are 24 official languages in the EU.
Travelling we become interested in some simple words and phrases, like `hello`, `good bye`, `thank you`, `language`, `peace`, `How are you?`, `How much is it?` , etc.
Students have made some posters of them:
